COVID-19 VACCINE UPDATE

With countries rolling out vaccines worldwide and South Africa now being a part of this process, we can now take a breath of hope and a feeling of security for the well being of our fellow South Africans. We are now officially on the very long road to recovery, with the Health Care sector being one of the first to join in helping and protecting the economy by receiving the privilege of registering now for the vaccine! May this be the seed of hope we have been waiting for to grow with success into a better and healthier South Africa??

With this being said, we have provided you with some information on the current vaccine being rolled out to help you make the most informed decision

Q & A's

?What is the COVID-19 vaccine?

This vaccine is intended to provide immunity against COVID-19.

In general, vaccines contain weakened or inactive parts of a particular organism that triggers an immune response within the body. This weakened version will not cause the disease in the person receiving the vaccine, but it will prompt their immune system to respond.

Some vaccines require multiple doses, given weeks or months apart. This is sometimes needed to allow for the production of long-lived antibodies and the development of memory cells.

In this way, the body is trained to fight the specific disease-causing organism, building up memory against the pathogen so it can fight it in the future.

?Is it necessary for me to take the vaccine?

Tests have proven that vaccination is the best defense against serious infections such as Covid. Vaccines do not give you the virus, rather it teaches your immune system to recognize and fight the infection.

The COVID-19 vaccine presents the body with instructions to build immunity and does not alter human cells.

?Is the vaccine safe?

Vaccines undergo rigorous trials to ensure they are safe and effective.

?What are the potential side effects of the vaccine?

-Mild pain and redness at the injection site.

-Fever and headache for a day or two after the injection.

-Allergy, however, is monitored at the health care facility before the patient leaves

?Should I decide not to go ahead with the vaccine, what does this mean for my current job role?

We as CareChamp would highly recommend that you register for the vaccine. This not only would safeguard you and your family but also the (mostly) elderly patients that we care for. Should the client request that they would prefer a champ that is vaccinated we, unfortunately, would need to also respect their preference. However, this does not mean that we would not allocate you to a client, but simply a client that is comfortable with a champ that has not been vaccinated.

?Should I decide to go ahead with the vaccine, what is the process to follow?

We have provided the link below where you are welcome to register as a Health Care Worker of CareChamp for the vaccination.

Please inform your respective agent of the decision you made. This will allow us to inform the clients we are servicing.

Have any questions? Feel free to message me or any of the respective agents and we will gladly assist

Should you require assistance in completing the form, please ask me or anyone of your respective agents

By completing the registration form, you confirm that you are a Healthcare worker and would need to provide an identity document and healthcare proof of employment at the vaccination which CareChamp would provide.

Once completing the process please provide us with a screenshot of the confirmation SMS received to verify that you have registered and to update your profile accordingly

Champ Vaccine Registration Process

We as CareChamp will be registering the company as a whole this would include all employees including our champs. This is to ensure that CareChamp is listed on the healthcare registration list

What about my personal choice?

The choice is still yours to make should you wish to go ahead or not with the vaccine, as this is just a registration process.

What happens when registration is confirmed?

Once confirmation is received, CareChamp will inform everyone of the relevant information regarding the date of appointment.

You are then welcome to decide whether to go to the appointment or not as the choice still remains yours.

When would this take place?

At this stage, we are unaware, as the vaccinations have been placed on hold by the Government. We would need to patiently wait on the President who will be addressing the nation tonight and will hear what his feedback would be as to how they will be proceeding forward.

Should you have any questions or concerns?

Please feel free to contact any respective care agent

Thank You
