We appreciate you!

We’re grateful for your commitment to working through this time of crisis.

We ask that you please be mindful of:

1. Where you get your news about the coronavirus

Don’t listen to rumors. Instead, go to https://sacoronavirus.co.za for official news and information from the South African government.

2. Your clients who are at higher risk

Older people and people with compromised immune systems (such as people who have heart disease, lung disease, and diabetes) are at higher risk of catching the coronavirus. Please don’t be offended should they ask you to take extra precautions. To put them at ease:

  • Make a point of washing and sanitizing your hands as soon as you arrive, ideally in front of your client.

  • Disinfect surfaces around the home.

  • Repeat hand washing and disinfecting throughout the day.

  • Make sure visitors follow the same protective measures.

3. Public transport and gatherings of more than 100 people

Please use private instead of public transport wherever possible to reduce exposure (we understand this is not easy or always possible), and avoid large social gatherings.

4. Live-in shifts make things safer for everyone

There are risks involved when we come into contact with anyone from the outside world. That’s why we want to encourage you to start considering a live-in shift as an option. Live-in shifts will decrease your and your client’s risk. We are busy offering this to existing clients on hourly packages as well as day/night shifts.

5. Live-in shifts mean guaranteed income

In these uncertain times, it’s a good idea to start thinking about how you’ll still be earning an income. Live-in shifts will solve this problem. Get in touch with us if you're interested or have any questions.

6. Protect your own health

Precautions aren’t just about protecting yourself. They’re about protecting the people in your care, especially the vulnerable ones.

Remember:

  • Wash your hands often for min. 20 seconds

  • Use an alcohol-based sanitizer

  • Use gloves

  • Wear facial masks (if unable to get facial masks you may also make use of wearing buffs)

  • Practice social distancing

  • Use the inside of your elbow when coughing and sneezing

  • Do not touch your face with hands that are not cleaned or disinfected,

  • Disinfect surfaces throughout the day

  • If you think you've been infected (showing symptoms, see below) OR if you have been in touch with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID19, please immediately call the national help hotline on 0800 029 999 or WhatsApp 0600 123 456, and then contact our office immediately.

See attached also the infection protocol.

As per Legislation you are please required every WORKDAY before starting work (or already on the job in case of live-in) to fill in this quick health questionnaire form:https://form.jotform.com/201192429120040 - failure to submit the form when you have a shift a penalty of R100 will be deducted from your weekly payout.

Coronavirus disease symptoms

Common signs of infection include respiratory symptoms, fever, dry cough, shortness of breath, and breathing difficulties.

Older people, and people with other medical conditions (such as asthma, diabetes, or heart disease), are more vulnerable to becoming severely ill.

Standard recommendations to prevent infection spread include regular hand washing, covering mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing. Avoid close contact with anyone showing symptoms of respiratory illness such as coughing and sneezing.
